General Oncology Hospital ‘Agioi Anargyroi’ in Kifissia, Attica
The New Oncology Hospital of 335 beds was built on the site of the old demolished hospital of “Agoi Anargyroi”, in Kifissia and extends to 40.000 m2. It consists of two separate buildings connected through a bridge on the level of the first floor. Each building serves a different purpose so that one can operate as a day out – patient diagnostic and treatment center mainly for oncological problems, while the other one as a general hospital comprising the nursing wards and the main bulk of diagnostic, operating and support services not restricted to oncological cases only.
Each building has two floors above the ground floor and two basements with direct access through service courtyards. The hospital includes the latest technological medical equipment covering all aspects of diagnosis. treatment and nursing. Materials used both internally and externally have been selected so that they create a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, while being at the same time easily maintained. The same applies for all furniture and other equipment of non-medical purpose.
The landscape of the complex has been planned in a way that reassures smooth circulation of various vehicles, especially ambulances and service trucks, while it also provides for safe circulation of pedestrians through shaded planted routes and resting spots. Finally, parking spaces are provided for private vehicles at convinient locations.
